How did you tackle your dress shopping?, How many Shops & Days

Just wondering how every one else does this, did u make a “day” of it and book up a few shops in one day?

How Many shops did you go to?
How many dresses? (in total before you chose one)

Ive got to do a long trip to go shopping with my friend so I thought I would make a day of it and book 2 or 3 shops,
