‘Rehab’ British singer Amy Winehouse married her long-term on-off boyfriend Blake Fielder on Friday 18th May. The couple tied the knot in Florida on a secret ceremony, without family or friends.
The singer’s dad showed the family’s shock in an interview for British paper Sunday Mirror. “We didn’t know about the wedding until they phoned to tell us. To say we were shocked is an understatement,” Winehouse’s father Mitchell said to the Sunday Mirror.
“I’m not angry, just a bit sad. It’s not every day your daughter gets married and it’s sad for her mum that she was not there. I would have liked to walk her up the aisle.”
The couple got engaged last month after a turbulent long-term relationship and is planning a more formal wedding back in England. They will invite family and friends this time!
