Default Need idea's on where to get married abroad!!

I am Australian, living in Ireland, marrying an irishman! Our situation is very different though as we are 'secretly' getting married at a registry office in Ireland in December. However, to all family and friends, we are actually getting married abroad in Sept - Oct 09.

So we need to plan a wedding abroad but I have no idea of where. I want to hold the 'wedding' on/near a beach. Have been thinking of Croatia, Spain....but need a few more ideas. Somewhere not too expensive (as there will be aussies travelling) and hopefully not too far from ireland.

Any help would be much appreciated!!!!

Thanks
Beck

Default What about Sicily??

Hi...
Am I still on time to give you some help?
First of all congratulations for your engagement!
About Sicily as venue of your Wedding...I can just tell you that the wole Italy is beautiful, there are too many spectacular places where you can get married...but Sicily, since I'm a Sicilian DOC, is different! Is something about emotions, atmosphere, flavours and colours!
If yu want an advice the first thing you should do is to decide the location and start as soon as possible the procedures for the wedding in Italy... It takes long time..from 2 to 6 months...
I work for an organization in half part public and in half part private, our porpouse is to guarantee tourist presence in our territory which includes also Taormina and Mt. Etna, we have 265 receptive structures which are associated to our organization, that is way we can guarantee the best price of the market! We alse take care of weddings in Sicily! I'm not displaying an advertising for my society... I'm not even telling you which is the name of it...
But if you want some help or details I can do it, I can send you our packages, a catalog with our presentation... with no profit!!!(dont worry) send me an email at eleliuz@hotmail.com

Best Regard
Elena

Smile Married on a beach!

Have you considered America at all?
I got married in California with Ultimate California Weddings this past June in Malibu. They were great and made our wedding so posh. Im British, and being that all of our families live here.. America was a great getaway that isnt too far (8 hours across the pond and then another few to get to California). It was so gorgeous there and because the pound is stronger then the american dollar... it wasnt as costly as I would have imagined. The company that set it all up for us was brilliant! They arranged our entire wedding... photographer, flowers and even helped us get our marriage license at the registrars so everything was legal. I would look at their website and see what you think. Cheers on your engagement!
