Default Weddings Abroad - the cost factor

Hi there,

Really interested in talking to people who have had weddings abroad for money reasons or those who are currently planning them. Any advice/info on where is cheap and how you saved money would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for your time...

Some cousins of mine had their wedding in Prague, and it was absolutely amazing!! They said it was very cheap compared with an irish wedding..

A couple of my friends have got married abroad and found it a lot cheaper. Italy seems to be a very popular spot plus you have a wedding planner who does everything for you, more or less!!!

I'm married to a Spanish senorita and live in Spain. there are quite a few wedding planners here who shall do as much or as little as you need regarding the weeding. I guess you should save about 25% or more on the cost of an Irish wedding.

You have to figure in the expense of travel but at least you have a 90% chance of sunshine and lack of rain, unless you are very, very, very unlucky.

Check out

www.spanishweddings.ie
www.javera-organisers.com
www.theweddingguide.eu
www.destiniweddings.com

all of whom can give you a little insite into getting married here. Note that barcelona and malaga weddings will turn out to be the same price if not more, than an Irish celebration.

If you are having a wedding rather than a blessing, you really will need the help of a planner to help you with all of the poapperwork required, no matter which foreign country you decide to have your celebration in.

Hi niambh

I am in the process of planning a wedding abroad.
I am doing it for two reasons

[1] much cheaper
[2] i can pick who i want to come :P

The wedding can be as cheap or as expensive as you want. Also you are nearly sure of good weather you can have your honeymoon included aswell. Itaily is popular beacuse you only have to be there 3 working days before hand. I would recommend that you get a wedding planner through an Irish travel operator.

I am spanish and getting married to an Irish man in Spain (of course) the total cost is going to be about 20% - 25% less than the irish wedding, we are going to have 120 people (65 of them travelling from pretty much all over Europe), if you don't know the area or the language I do recommend to get a wedding planner, otherwise you can do it yourself, we have everything planned (and the wedding is not for another 8 months) all I need to do now is relax and wait for the day to arrive.

BTW, ... Good luck with the planning
