Hiya,
We are trying to find an unusual wedding venue for our reception. Not just the usual run of the mill ballroom, maybe one that has a pitched ceiling that has a bit of character. Unfortunately castle receptions are out of budget Maybe a boat reception? did anyone ever have one of those? There would be nearly 100 guests in total. Brooklodge has a lovely reception room, done in a tudor syle, but only caters for 120 minimum for the weekend Any suggestions would be great! x |

A bit late with this post but it might help. If your looking for a cheap castle thats a bit different you should try glenart castle in arklow, the castle is gorgeous, ive been to two weddings there, its a bit rough around the edge (the bedrooms are a bit tacky and the gardens seen better days) but the castle is stunning. I dont think they do food anymore, you'd have to get outside caterers, one of the weddings i went to had ordered in chinese food, everyone agreed it was the nicest wedding dinner we ever had! They had fairy lights outside the castle (dont know if that was there addition or standard for weddings)I think they accomodated 200 at that wedding, im hoping to get married there in a couple of years (if he ever gets around to proposing!!!)
