Hi Everyone! Just got engaged after 8 years together. We're both 29 and and can be very disorganised! Hoping it won't take us as long to plan the wedding!!!
We are thinking Winter 2008. Is New Years Eve possible for a wedding? We are hoping to have a civil ceremony but are having trouble finding a location, preferably Cork/West Cork. Any suggestions or recommendations would be great! I think our numbers will be 120 - 140 so that's ruling out a good few places. Thanks for the help!! |

Hi, Im afraid I cant help you but I'm in a similar situation. Together over 7 years, 28yrs old would love a winter wedding. Just bought a house so for affordability I was thinking 2009 and like that I'd love New Years Eve. Let me know how you get on...what friends and family thought?

Lots of hotels are now taking weddings for New Years Eve as opposed to having dinner dances and balls etc.
You'd want to get your skates on though to find a hotel and a band which I think will be your biggest challenges. |

There is a private venue outside Midleton call Barnabrow house that is well worth a look. Anyone I talk to say that they would love to have their wedding there. Ours is too big to go there. Check out there website though.

Congratulations, similar story, 9 years together and finally getting hitched in July, 2009. Regarding New Year's Eve ceremony, I know someone who is getting married on that day in North Cork, also the hotel I am using for my wedding suggested that date at no extra cost, so it is possible. Alot of planning to do in a short time, good luck with it. Have you got a "bridezilla" book to assist you, I got a humourous one which really does help alot, you need some assistance although this site is superb...
