Hi Kate,
no never heard of anyone looking for full payment before wedding. what ever about looking for deposit as most business' do to secure it etc. its sort of a given that you pay balance after wedding.

You may even wish to get most of the bill out of the way but still leave a little till after the day to ensure he turns up to collect it!

Even the best videographers dont ask for this. if they are confident in their work and so are you in hiring them there is no need to request full payment before your wedding day.

good luck.

I agree, I would not pay as my sister got married in June and the company she booked said that they double booked her and only notified her a couple of weeks before her wedding. She was livid and said that she had paid the deposit and somebody better be there. They said they would hire another company and she said no that she paid them and they better be there to which they agreed. On morning of the wedding they rang and said they were on their way and half an hour later phoned and said he'd been in a car accident but not to worry that they would send another company. She still has not recieved her DVD because the new company are charging more than she had agreed with the original company.
