hey, we are only planning on having a dj for my wedding, the function room is not very big so there won't be this be gap where the band should be and also i just feel you can go terrible wrong with a band and of course lets not forget the cost of a band.. are we mad.. how many other people aren't having a band???

We're not having a band either but are having a casino which means our music won't start until about 11 - taking a chance on doing something different - if it doesn't work at least we tried!!

we haven't quite decided yet. My BFs mates are in a band, but will be coming from Scotland, so would have to carry instruments etc with them. I would not get the chance to hear them properly before hand either. I know something of what they play, but don't think it is varied enough. I want something for my parents as well. I also want his mates to be able to enjoy themselves and don't want them playing music while full of drink! I don't mind the band having a drink or two, but his mates should be able to have a good few. I would, therefore be thinking along the lines of just a DJ as well. I know that you can decide on one price for 3-4 hours and more for 5-6 hours or something like that, and some of them will do MC earlier on for the speeches as well.
