What about taking a boat ride down to Sicily?? My sister was there recently and couldn't say enough good things about it! Think you can get a boat from Rome.

Lake Garda is just Fab but you should also check Tuscani, we were there 7 years ago and planning to go back again sometime next year, ... We stayed in Florence, Pisa only a drive away, same with Sienna, loads to see on an expectacular location. Good luck in choosing a location :-)

OMG You absolutly have to go to Italy!! I have been all over and it is fabulous! Just fly in whereever it is cheapest and rent a car! make sure you can return the car from where you are flying out. Just go on a wonderful adventure and see all you can, from the big cities to the serene country life!
It is a total must!
