Default Red Carpets?

Hi There,

Are many people using a red carpet at their weddings or not? Cant decide, are they a bit cliché? :?

Personally I don't like them. To me, they are a bit "hollywood style" and I prefer simplicity. They are always offered as part of the wedding package in the hotels and I often wonder would they replace that complementary red carpet with some other complimentary thing instead. Am I cheeky?

I think it depends on the venue / chursch you get married in. Some places are so grand that they deserve a red carpet and others are so beautiful as they are they need no extras! Ask the people at the venue and see has it been done before.

I think at the church it is easy to say if you don't want it. I wouldn't think it would be a problem, but not sure about the hotel's. The hotel's seem to think that it is so wonderful to provide a free red carpet and if I don't want one, I would hope for a reduction on something else or something free to the same value as the carpet. I might be cheeky, but I defo don't want the carpet. I might just have to miss out on value for money.

You could always ask how much they are charging for the carpet, that way if you want to replace it with something else you know how much you have to play with!!!

True! That would be a tactful and polite way of asking . Will try it when the time comes. Thanks.
