Default Gift from bride to groom

Hi All

As my H2B doesn't want to have a wedding ring, as he hates all jewelery and won't wear it, I want to give him a gift on the altar at the time of the vows and ring ceremony. I know there is a section for this and it is often gold/silver that is exchanged. I would like it built into the ring ceremony and just give him a gift. I am looking for ideas on what type of gift to give him there, since he doesn't like jewelery. I can't see him wearing a tie pin either, as he doesn't wear suits, unless at a funeral or wedding. Nor does he wear cuff links. I am really stuck. Can anybody help me?

Oh, your wedding is soo close!!! You must be soo excited! Are you nervous at all? My BF loves Elvis, among other singers, but since I want to give it at the exchange of rings time, if possible, I would like it to be something a bit less materialistic. I am sure I will find some little antique silver piece that would mean something to him or maybe something else. Best of luck with your wedding and have a wonderful day and honeymoon, if you are going on one right away. Be sure to let us know here, how your big day went and if you have any advice or tips for us all, from your experience of it.

ya getting very exicited and nervous all in one. Tried on my dress and shoes and jewellery today and it is just so real now.
Still have a million and one things to do yet. My advice get everything done early. I started things ages ago and then left them on the long finger, big mistake. The last week or two should be for relaxing. I finished work today so the next couple days i will tie up all loose ends.
Have my bag to pack yet for honeymoon - that will be fun, heading to u.s.a the following day and back the end of the month for a big party to celebrate.
I'm sure you will find something nice for your h.t.b keep looking something will pop out to you when you least expect it.

Have you found it stressful preparing on time, even though you are having a very small wedding? I know the church and legal side seems awkward and takes time etc. but I would have thought that the rest of it would be organised pretty much. We are having a small wedding too, but bigger than you,, unless few people turn up, as most guests are from abroad. We are keeping it simple. My H2B will be wearing his Scottish kilt, as will his best man and mates. I hope to hire my dress or get a cheap second hand one. I am just going to find shoes I like...cheap ones and get them covered. Nobody sees them anyway and I really want to be comfortable for the day and night. Flowers, car and cake are the things I see {apart from church etc} to really put the work into. Do you think I really need a mass booklet? I know what I am doing for invitations as well. I don't feel like there is a whole lot to do. It seems clear in my head, but maybe I am leaving lots of things out. My hair is something I am not sure about and hope my sister or someone will do a bit of makeup for me. Don't want much!

Oh yeah very stressfull last few weeks, even though we are having a really small family wedding we are still having the big party when we get back from Honeymoon. I decided i would hand make the invitations for this and needed about 400. I made 200 got really tired of them. ran out of loads of stuff and found it impossible to get matching paper etc. Then the h.t.b would not give me his list or numbers, kept telling me we have loads of time, but here we are a week away and still haven't finished the invites.* We booked our party with this lovely girl but than last week we found out she had left the hotel and we were stressed out about this. We had to go and meet the new manager and make sure everthing was as we wanted it.Also we are getting married in Cork and we are both from the West of Ireland so its alot of travelling up and down. Especially something simple like the hair and make up trial.I made my mass booklets today - took a while to do. I felt i needed them so i will know what is coming next in the mass, so i will know when to say i do.But i don't think they are necessary if you are comfortable without them. The shoes i got are rainbow club got them in a bridal shoe shop they are really comfy and you can dye them afterwards if you like.Got my tickets yesterday for honeymoon and have to go through that with a fine tooth comb incase there is any mistake. Would not be a happy bunny if that happened. The kilts sound really nice - no fear my man would wear one - hardly got him into a suit.

That's interesting mandy. Keep forgetting that you have the party to organise. It must be hard arranging things with all the travelling. The invites sound stressful for you. We're going somewhere nearby for our honeymoon. We thought first of the lake district, until I reminded my man that his parents live at a 30 min drive away. They would leave us alone anyway, I think, but still! Then we have been thinking of the Isle of Wight for a long time and now my man is talking just about Ireland. I would like about a week away somewhere abroad though. Good luck finishing the preparations and on the big day.
