Hi,
Having looked at a million brochures I see that most of them say corkage is non-negotiable but realistically in this economy is everything negotiable?

Ye – it is negotiable – and should be considering the times we’re in!
We got our corkagedown from 13 euro to 7euro, so don’t be afraid to ask!
corkage is a scam that belongs to the good old cletic tiger days. Even though we’re considering a marquee reception for next year, we managed to haggle a hotel in castlebar down to no corkage charge at all! From 12euro!
Just tell them you wont pay it, or let them offer some very good priced wines instead. Business is scarce.
